Hailing from the Curicó Valley in Chile, Manso Velasco is a tribute to the founder of the city of Curicó, Don Francisco Antonio de Manso de Velasco. This iconic red is crafted from a single vineyard of ungrafted, pre-phylloxera Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1902. These centenarian vines struggle in the stony, clay-loam soils, producing incredibly low yields of deeply concentrated, complex fruit. The wine is traditionally aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, resulting in a powerful, structured Cabernet Sauvignon with intense notes of dark forest fruits, leather, and subtle toast, grounded by a remarkable mineral backbone that reflects its historic terroir.
