Familia Torres's prestigious venture into the rugged, mystical landscape of Priorat pays homage to the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei, who first brought viticulture to this mountainous corner of Catalonia in the 12th century. Crafted from classic Priorat varieties, primarily Cariñena and Garnacha, this wine is born from steep, terraced vineyards dominated by the region's famous 'licorella' soil—a dark, shimmering slate that forces the vine roots to plunge deep into the earth in search of water. The extreme climate and low-yielding old vines produce a red of immense concentration and mineral complexity. Aged in French oak, the wine beautifully marries intense black fruit, wild mountain herbs, cocoa, and slate-like minerality with a powerful yet velvety structure.
