Torres Salmos is a profound homage to the Carthusian monks who first planted vines in the rugged, mystical hills of Priorat during the late 12th century. The name Salmos, meaning Psalms, evokes the quiet, spiritual contemplation of these early winemakers. Grown on steep, terraced vineyards, the vines struggle through licorella—a unique, dark slate soil that imparts a distinct mineral intensity to the wine. This classic Priorat blend typically marries Cariñena and Garnacha with Syrah. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a dark, brooding red that balances opulent dark forest fruits, black pepper, and cocoa with a stony, structural minerality and velvety tannins.
