Hailing from the pioneering Chilean estate established by the Torres family in 1979, the Santa Digna range is named after the historic stone crosses that once marked the boundaries of land in Chile, symbolizing hospitality and safe passage for travelers. This Merlot is grown in the temperate climates of the Central Valley, where warm days and cool Andean nights foster slow, balanced ripening. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel before a portion is aged in French oak barrels for approximately six months. This careful process preserves the vibrant, plum-forward fruit character of the grape while imparting subtle notes of vanilla and spice, reflecting the estate's deep commitment to sustainable and Fair Trade certified viticulture.
