✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted from selected parcels rooted in shallow, free-draining decomposed granite soils, this cuvée represents a curated assemblage of classic indigenous varieties. Vinification takes place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to safeguard delicate varietal aromatics and preserve pure primary fruit expression. Extended contact with fine lees without malolactic fermentation contributes subtle textural roundness while retaining the sharp, mineral-driven freshness and gentle petillance characteristic of the appellation.
🍾 About the Producer
Quinta do Montinho is a historic estate located in Vila Verde within Portugal's Vinho Verde DOC, tracing its viticultural legacy back to parish and regional records from 1621. Anchored by an eighteenth-century Baroque granite manor house, the property is situated along the slopes of the Neiva River valley, nestled between the Cávado and Lima sub-regions. This geographic orientation provides an optimal balance of Atlantic maritime influence and sheltered inland warmth, with decomposed granite soils fostering vibrant acidity and expressive minerality. Viticulture is managed through integrated, sustainable practices that prioritize soil health and vine longevity. Winemaking, overseen by consulting enologist António Sousa, merges classical cool-climate vinification with modern temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation to retain aromatic vibrancy. The estate's portfolio is anchored by benchmark indigenous varietal whites, including crisp, citrus-driven Loureiro, elegant single-varietal Alvarinho, and oak-matured Alvarinho Reserva.
