Hailing from the cool-climate vineyards of the Aconcagua region, specifically the pioneering Casablanca Valley, Morandé's Extra Brut is a testament to the visionary spirit of founder Pablo Morandé. In the early 1980s, Morandé defied conventional wisdom by planting vines in this coastal valley, forever changing the landscape of Chilean viticulture. Benefiting from the cooling influence of the Humboldt Current and morning fogs rolling in from the Pacific Ocean, the grapes ripen slowly, retaining the vibrant acidity essential for premium sparkling wine. This Extra Brut style highlights the pristine purity of the coastal terroir, combining mineral tension with delicate fruit notes and a refined, persistent effervescence that reflects the estate's mastery of cool-climate winemaking.

Viña Morandé blev grundlagt i 1996 af den visionære vinmager Pablo Morandé, som er almindeligt anerkendt for sin pionerindsats inden for vindyrkning i det kølige klima i Casablanca Valley. I dag rangerer vinhuset blandt Chiles mest innovative og respekterede producenter. Med vinmarker i førsteklasses terroirs på tværs af Casablanca, Maipo, Cachapoal og Maule forener huset klassisk håndværk med en utrættelig innovationslyst. I kælderen eksperimenteres der flittigt med utraditionelle modningsbeholdere såsom betonæg, keramiske amforaer og store franske egetræs-foudres.
