Morandé's Tirazis is a profound tribute to the ancient roots of Syrah, drawing its name from 'Tirazis', the historic Persian name for Shiraz, believed by legend to be the ancestral birthplace of the grape. Grown in the cool-climate conditions of the Casablanca Valley within the greater Aconcagua region, this wine benefits from the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean and morning fogs. This unique terroir slows the ripening process, allowing the grapes to develop intense aromatic complexity, striking acidity, and elegant, fine-grained tannins. Morandé crafts this wine using traditional and innovative techniques, often utilizing concrete eggs and oak foudres to preserve the vibrant, peppery, and dark-fruit character of the cool-climate Syrah without overpowering it with oak.
