✨ Technical Specifications

Viña Morandé’s Vigno is a proud testament to Chile’s viticultural heritage and the renaissance of the Maule Valley's ancient vines. Born from the VIGNO (Vignadores de Carignan) association, this wine celebrates the rescue of historic, dry-farmed, head-trained Carignan vines planted in the Secano Interior following the devastating 1939 Chillán earthquake. These resilient, deep-rooted old vines thrive without irrigation, absorbing the pure essence of the granitic, clay-rich soils. Morandé crafts this wine using traditional, low-intervention methods, aging the wine in large oak foudres to preserve the grape's naturally high acidity, rustic charm, and intense dark fruit character. The result is a deeply expressive red that weaves a tale of survival, terroir, and Chilean winemaking pride.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1996 by visionary winemaker Pablo Morandé—widely recognized for pioneering cool-climate viticulture in the Casablanca Valley—Viña Morandé stands among Chile's most inventive and respected wine producers. Operating across premier terroirs spanning the Casablanca, Maipo, Cachapoal, and Maule valleys, the estate blends traditional craftsmanship with relentless innovation, utilizing unconventional aging vessels such as concrete eggs, ceramic amphorae, and large French oak foudres. The winery produces a comprehensive spectrum of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines, highlighted by the benchmark Gran Reserva series, terroir-driven Terrarum range, and the flagship Bordeaux-style blend, House of Morandé. Guided by a philosophy of authentic terroir expression and stylistic daring, Morandé consistently showcases the dynamic potential and regional diversity of contemporary Chilean viticulture.
