Bodegas Muga, situated in the historic Barrio de la Estación in Haro, Rioja Alta, is one of the region's most revered family-owned estates. Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, the winery maintains a rare commitment to traditional craftsmanship, being one of the few in Spain to employ an in-house master cooper to handcraft all of their oak vats and barrels. The Muga Blanco is a beautiful expression of white Rioja, typically blending Viura with smaller portions of Malvasía de Rioja and Tempranillo Blanco. Grown in clay-limestone soils under a climate influenced by both Atlantic and Mediterranean breezes, the grapes undergo fermentation and brief aging on the lees in new French oak barrels. This meticulous process imparts a rich, creamy texture and subtle toasted complexity to the wine's vibrant citrus and white-fruit core, bridging the gap between historical Rioja winemaking and modern freshness.

Bodegas Muga blev grundlagt i 1932 af Isaac Muga og Aurora Caño og regnes i dag blandt Spaniens mest agtede og traditionsrige familiedrevne vinhuse. Ejendommen har hjemme i det legendariske Barrio de la Estación i Haro i Rioja Alta-zonen. Vingården værner urokkeligt om de klassiske vinifikationsmetoder og er blandt de få producenter, der stadig råder over sit eget bødkeri. Her fremstiller husets egne bødker-mestre alle gæringskar og lagringsfade af udsøgt egetræ, ligesom vinene klares naturligt med æggehvider.
