Bodegas Muga, nestled in the historic Barrio de la Estacion of Haro, Rioja, crafts this exceptional sparkling wine under the Cava DO. Named 'Conde de Haro' to honor the historic countship of their home city, this white Cava is a brilliant expression of Rioja Alta's high-altitude terroir. Unlike traditional Catalan Cavas, it is crafted primarily from Viura with a touch of Malvasia, grown in clay-limestone soils under a cooling Atlantic influence. In true Muga fashion, the base wine is fermented in traditional oak casks—a rare practice in sparkling wine production—before undergoing secondary fermentation in the bottle and aging on its lees. This meticulous process imparts a creamy texture, subtle toastiness, and vibrant acidity, seamlessly blending Rioja's rich winemaking heritage with classic sparkling elegance.

Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, Bodegas Muga is one of the most revered and historic family-run wineries in Spain, situated in the legendary Barrio de la Estación in Haro within the Rioja Alta subregion. The bodega remains steadfastly dedicated to traditional winemaking methods, being one of the few producers to maintain its own in-house master cooperage, crafting all fermentation vats and aging casks from fine oak, alongside practicing natural clarification through egg-white fining.
