✨ wine.spec_sheet

Niepoort's Crusted Port is a masterful tribute to a historic and increasingly rare style of Port wine, traditionally beloved by British merchants and connoisseurs. Unlike Vintage Port, which represents a single year, Crusted Port is a selection of high-quality wines from different vintages, sourced from old field-blend vineyards in the Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley. The grapes, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, are foot-trodden in traditional granite lagares and aged in large wooden vats before being bottled unfiltered. As it matures in the cellar, the wine throws a natural sediment, or 'crust,' along the side of the bottle. This traditional, hands-off approach preserves the wine's vibrant, dark-berried fruit, muscular tannins, and deep, earthy complexity, offering a sensory experience remarkably close to a mature Vintage Port.
