Quinta de Baixo Goncalves Faria Branco is a profound tribute to the traditional winemaking heritage of Bairrada, born from Dirk Niepoort's acquisition of the historic estate. The wine honors the legacy of Antonio Goncalves Faria, a legendary local producer known for crafting incredibly age-worthy, structured wines. Sourced from old vines rooted in the region's classic calcareous-clay soils, this white blend is typically composed of Maria Gomes and Bical. To respect the historic style, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in large, neutral oak foudres, followed by an extended aging period on the fine lees without battonage. This minimalist approach preserves the striking, razor-sharp acidity and intense saline minerality that define Bairrada's Atlantic-influenced terroir, resulting in a wine of exceptional tension, depth, and waxy complexity.

Niepoort blev grundlagt i 1842 af Franciscus Marius van der Niepoort og er et ikonisk, uafhængigt familieejet hus med base i Vila Nova de Gaia og dybe historiske rødder i Portugals Douro-dal. Huset har i over et århundrede været berømt for sine skelsættende Colheita- og Vintage Ports, men gennemgik en dynamisk renæssance under femtegenerations-visionæren Dirk Niepoort, der banede vejen for den moderne æra af uforstærkede Douro-bordvine i absolut topklasse. Med en kompromisløs forkærlighed for gamle vinmarker med field blends, minimal intervention i vinfremstillingen og et unikt terroirudtryk skaber vinhuset hyldede tørre vine som Batuta, Charme og Redoma sideløbende med nyere projekter i Bairrada og Dão.
