✨ wine.spec_sheet

Niepoort's Tiara is a masterclass in tension and elegance, born from Dirk Niepoort's visionary quest to prove that the rugged, sun-drenched Douro Valley could produce white wines of world-class freshness and longevity. Sourced from field-blend old vines—some over 60 to 100 years old—perched at high altitudes of 600 to 800 meters, this wine thrives on cool mountain air and ancient schist soils. The blend is dominated by indigenous varieties like Códega do Larinho and Rabigato. In the cellar, Tiara undergoes a remarkably slow, natural fermentation in large, neutral wooden foudres that can last up to a full year, resulting in a wine of profound texture, vibrant minerality, and electric acidity, completely bypassing malolactic fermentation to preserve its crystalline purity.
