Nieto Senetiner has played a pioneering role in elevating Bonarda from a historic blending grape to a celebrated varietal wine in its own right. Originally hailing from the Savoie region of France as Douce Noir, Bonarda arrived in Argentina with late 19th-century immigrants and thrived in the sun-drenched terroirs of Mendoza. While it was long utilized to add color and volume to jug wines, Nieto Senetiner was among the first estates to treat the variety with artisanal care. By managing yields in their estate vineyards, they coax out a remarkably expressive profile characterized by intense aromas of red berries, plums, and a touch of sweet spice, showcasing the grape's natural vibrancy and soft, approachable tannins.

Founded in 1888 by Italian immigrants in the premier Vistalba subregion of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Nieto Senetiner stands as one of Argentina's foundational and most storied wineries. Expanded and revitalized by the Nieto and Senetiner families beginning in 1969, the estate pairs more than a century of viticultural heritage with modern vinification techniques. Nestled in the high-altitude foothills of the Andes, the vineyards thrive in semi-arid conditions that produce concentrated, balanced fruit with remarkable depth.
