Finca La Colonia is one of Bodega Norton's most cherished estates, located in the heart of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Acquired in 1934, this historic property was unique for its time, functioning as a vibrant, self-sustaining community for the winery's workers and their families, complete with its own school and chapel. The Colección Chardonnay is a tribute to this rich communal heritage, crafted to express the pure, unadorned character of high-altitude Mendoza fruit. Grown in gravelly, alluvial soils watered by pure Andean snowmelt, the grapes benefit from intense daytime sun and cool mountain nights. To preserve its lively personality, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with minimal oak contact, resulting in a crisp, aromatic white defined by notes of green apple, tropical melon, and bright citrus.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1895 by English engineer Edmund James Palmer Norton, Bodega Norton is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Argentina's Luján de Cuyo region in Mendoza. In 1989, the historic estate was acquired by Austrian businessman Gernot Langes-Swarovski, who modernized the facilities while preserving its rich heritage. Today, the winery is celebrated for its high-altitude viticulture and commitment to expressing the unique terroir of the Primera Zona. Norton is particularly renowned for its structured, age-worthy Malbecs, such as the iconic Gernot Langes blend and the Reserva Malbec, alongside vibrant white wines like Torrontés and Chardonnay.
