Hailing from the high-altitude vineyards of Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza, Bodega Norton's Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a testament to the estate's century-long history in the 'Primera Zona'. Grown on old vines planted in alluvial, stony soils irrigated by pure Andean snowmelt, this wine benefits from intense solar radiation and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts. This unique terroir allows the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to ripen slowly, developing thick skins rich in polyphenols while maintaining a vibrant natural acidity. The wine is traditionally fermented in stainless steel before undergoing aging for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by additional refinement in the bottle. The result is a classic, structured expression of Argentine Cabernet, balancing ripe dark fruit with elegant notes of black pepper, eucalyptus, and integrated oak spice.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1895 by English engineer Edmund James Palmer Norton, Bodega Norton is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Argentina's Luján de Cuyo region in Mendoza. In 1989, the historic estate was acquired by Austrian businessman Gernot Langes-Swarovski, who modernized the facilities while preserving its rich heritage. Today, the winery is celebrated for its high-altitude viticulture and commitment to expressing the unique terroir of the Primera Zona. Norton is particularly renowned for its structured, age-worthy Malbecs, such as the iconic Gernot Langes blend and the Reserva Malbec, alongside vibrant white wines like Torrontés and Chardonnay.
