First released in 1997, Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia serves as the highly acclaimed second wine of the legendary Ornellaia estate, located in the sun-drenched coastal amphitheater of Bolgheri, Tuscany. Born from the estate's younger vineyards and crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as the grand vin, it is a classic Bolgheri Rosso blend typically dominated by Merlot, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The terroir of Bolgheri, characterized by maritime breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea and a complex mosaic of alluvial, volcanic, and clay-rich soils, imparts a lush, velvety texture and vibrant Mediterranean character to the wine. Aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barriques, Le Serre Nuove beautifully balances the structure and elegance of a Bordeaux-style blend with the warm, generous soul of the Tuscan coast, offering an accessible yet sophisticated window into the pedigree of one of Italy's most prestigious estates.

Ornellaia blev grundlagt i 1981 af Marchese Lodovico Antinori og drives i dag af Frescobaldi-familien.
