✨ wine.spec_sheet

Osborne's Fine Tawny Port represents a beautiful cross-border Iberian legacy, crafted by a historic house founded in 1772 by Thomas Osborne. While famous for its Spanish sherry roots and the iconic silhouette of the Osborne Bull, the house has long maintained a dedicated presence in the historic lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia. This Fine Tawny is crafted from traditional Douro Valley grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, grown on the steep, schistous slopes of the Douro. The wine undergoes a controlled fermentation before being fortified with grape spirit, followed by three to four years of oxidative aging in traditional oak casks. This wood contact softens the intense fruit of a young Ruby, transforming it into a lighter, amber-hued nectar with complex notes of dried fruits, warm spices, and toasted wood.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1772 by English merchant Thomas Osborne Mann in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain, Grupo Osborne is one of the oldest and most prestigious wine and spirits houses in the Iberian Peninsula. While deeply rooted in the Sherry Triangle of Andalusia, Spain, the house also boasts a historic legacy in Portugal's Douro Valley and Vila Nova de Gaia, crafting exceptional Port wines alongside their legendary Sherries. Osborne's production philosophy centers on meticulous aging, utilizing the traditional dynamic solera system for their Sherries in Spain and classic lodge maturation for their Ports in Portugal. Their highly acclaimed portfolio ranges from rare, decades-old Sherries like the Venerable Pedro Ximénez 30YO and Bailén Oloroso to elegant, structured Ports including aged Tawnies, Late Bottled Vintages, and classic Rubies.
