✨ wine.spec_sheet

Osborne Ruby Port represents a harmonious bridge between Spanish winemaking heritage and the historic traditions of Portugal's Douro Valley. Founded in 1772 by Thomas Osborne Mann, the house of Osborne—instantly recognizable by its iconic bull silhouette—has long curated exceptional fortified wines. Crafted in Vila Nova de Gaia, this Ruby Port is a classic blend of traditional Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca. To preserve its youthful, energetic character and deep ruby hue, the wine is aged for approximately three years in large oak vats, minimizing oxidative contact. This technique locks in vibrant aromas of red cherries, blackberries, and plums, wrapped in a rich, sweet, and warming palate that captures the rugged spirit of the Douro's terraced schist slopes.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1772 by English merchant Thomas Osborne Mann in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain, Grupo Osborne is one of the oldest and most prestigious wine and spirits houses in the Iberian Peninsula. While deeply rooted in the Sherry Triangle of Andalusia, Spain, the house also boasts a historic legacy in Portugal's Douro Valley and Vila Nova de Gaia, crafting exceptional Port wines alongside their legendary Sherries. Osborne's production philosophy centers on meticulous aging, utilizing the traditional dynamic solera system for their Sherries in Spain and classic lodge maturation for their Ports in Portugal. Their highly acclaimed portfolio ranges from rare, decades-old Sherries like the Venerable Pedro Ximénez 30YO and Bailén Oloroso to elegant, structured Ports including aged Tawnies, Late Bottled Vintages, and classic Rubies.
