The DuBrul Vineyard, situated on a steep, south-facing hillside in Washington's Yakima Valley, is widely celebrated as one of the Pacific Northwest's premier vineyard sites. Named in honor of co-owner Kathy Shiels' family, this unique terroir features complex soils of volcanic basalt overlaid with wind-blown loess. Owen Roe's expression of Chardonnay from this acclaimed site highlights the brilliant harmony between natural acidity and rich texture. Crafted using traditional French cellar techniques, the wine undergoes barrel fermentation and regular lees stirring (bâtonnage) to develop a creamy, nuanced mouthfeel. The dramatic diurnal temperature shifts of the Yakima Valley preserve the grape's vibrant acidity, resulting in a sophisticated white wine that balances bright orchard fruit notes with a distinct mineral backbone derived from the ancient volcanic soils.

Owen Roe blev grundlagt i 1999 af vinmageren David O'Reilly og Jerry McNally med en klar ambition om at skabe terroir-drevne vine i verdensklasse fra de ypperste vinmarker i Pacific Northwest. Vingården er opkaldt efter den irske 1600-tals-patriot Owen Roe O'Neill og råder over egne faciliteter samt opkøber druer på tværs af både Columbia Valley og Yakima Valley i Washington samt Willamette Valley i Oregon. Owen Roe arbejder ud fra en filosofi om minimal indgriben, hvor nænsom vinfremstilling og en velafbalanceret fadlagring bringer det unikke særpræg frem fra berømte marker som DuBrul, Red Willow og Union Gap. Huset er særligt anerkendt for sine nuancerede enkeltmarks-vine på Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah og Cabernet Franc samt populære og karakterfulde blends som Sinister Hand, Ex Umbris og Abbot's Table.
