Sourced from vineyards nestled in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, the grapes benefit from hot, sunny days and cool desert nights, a dramatic diurnal shift that preserves natural acidity while developing rich, concentrated flavors. Owen Roe blev grundlagt i 1999 af vinmageren David O'Reilly og Jerry McNally med en klar ambition om at skabe terroir-drevne vine i verdensklasse fra de ypperste vinmarker i Pacific Northwest. Vingården er opkaldt efter den irske 1600-tals-patriot Owen Roe O'Neill og råder over egne faciliteter samt opkøber druer på tværs af både Columbia Valley og Yakima Valley i Washington samt Willamette Valley i Oregon. Owen Roe arbejder ud fra en filosofi om minimal indgriben, hvor nænsom vinfremstilling og en velafbalanceret fadlagring bringer det unikke særpræg frem fra berømte marker som DuBrul, Red Willow og Union Gap. Huset er særligt anerkendt for sine nuancerede enkeltmarks-vine på Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah og Cabernet Franc samt populære og karakterfulde blends som Sinister Hand, Ex Umbris og Abbot's Table.
