Hailing from the cool-climate sites of Washington's Yakima Valley, Owen Roe's Riesling showcases the remarkable versatility of this noble grape in the Pacific Northwest. The region's dramatic diurnal temperature swings—hot, sunny days followed by crisp, cool nights—allow the grapes to develop rich, concentrated stone fruit and citrus flavors while retaining a vibrant, electric acidity. Sourced from vineyards shaped by the ancient Missoula Floods, the vines dig deep into silt-loam soils, imparting a distinct mineral undertone to the wine. Owen Roe employs gentle pressing and cool fermentations in stainless steel to preserve the pristine, aromatic purity of the fruit, resulting in a beautifully balanced wine that honors the long history of Riesling in Washington State.

Owen Roe blev grundlagt i 1999 af vinmageren David O'Reilly og Jerry McNally med en klar ambition om at skabe terroir-drevne vine i verdensklasse fra de ypperste vinmarker i Pacific Northwest. Vingården er opkaldt efter den irske 1600-tals-patriot Owen Roe O'Neill og råder over egne faciliteter samt opkøber druer på tværs af både Columbia Valley og Yakima Valley i Washington samt Willamette Valley i Oregon. Owen Roe arbejder ud fra en filosofi om minimal indgriben, hvor nænsom vinfremstilling og en velafbalanceret fadlagring bringer det unikke særpræg frem fra berømte marker som DuBrul, Red Willow og Union Gap. Huset er særligt anerkendt for sine nuancerede enkeltmarks-vine på Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah og Cabernet Franc samt populære og karakterfulde blends som Sinister Hand, Ex Umbris og Abbot's Table.
