Named after the beloved Irish farewell song, 'The Parting Glass' is Owen Roe's exquisite tribute to traditional European dessert wines, crafted from late-harvest Riesling grapes grown in the cool, high-elevation sites of Washington's Yakima Valley. Winemaker David O'Reilly leverages the region's dramatic diurnal temperature shifts, which allow the grapes to hang late into the autumn, developing concentrated sugars and occasionally noble rot (botrytis) while preserving a vibrant, electric acidity. This luscious dessert wine captures the essence of the harvest's end, offering a rich tapestry of honeyed apricot, candied citrus, and mineral notes, balanced by a clean, refreshing finish. Founded in 1999 by winemaker David O'Reilly and Jerry McNally, Owen Roe was established with a mission to craft world-class, terroir-driven wines from the premier vineyard sites of the Pacific Northwest. Named in honor of the 17th-century Irish patriot Owen Roe O'Neill, the winery operates estate facilities and sources fruit spanning both Washington's Columbia and Yakima Valleys and Oregon's Willamette Valley.
