Hailing from the stony terraces of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation in the northern Rhône Valley, 'Les Jalets' takes its name from the ancient French word for the smooth, rounded river pebbles ('jalets') deposited by retreating glaciers millennia ago. These iconic stones act as natural heat regulators, absorbing the warm French sun by day and gently radiating it back to the Syrah vines during the cool nights. Crafted by the historic house of Paul Jaboulet Aîné, this wine is a vibrant, terroir-driven expression of Northern Rhône Syrah. It undergoes traditional vinification followed by aging in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels to preserve its bright, crunchy red fruit character, cracked black pepper spice, and elegant floral undertones.

Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet in the northern Rhône Valley, Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of France's most iconic wine estates, renowned for its historic vineyards and uncompromising quality. Now owned by the Frey family and guided by winemaker Caroline Frey, the estate has transitioned to certified organic and biodynamic viticulture across its legendary holdings, which span prestigious appellations like Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Cornas. The house is globally celebrated for its flagship Syrah, Hermitage "La Chapelle," alongside expressive white wines and the accessible, classic Parallèle 45 range. Through meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification and aging in French oak, Jaboulet continues to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines that define the character of the Rhône.
