Hailing from the rugged slopes of Mount Ventoux, often called the 'Giant of Provence,' Les Traverses Rouge captures the wild, sun-drenched spirit of the Southern Rhône. The wine takes its name from the 'traverses,' the historic dry-stone walls built to support the steep, terraced vineyards that cling to the mountainside. Here, the vines benefit from intense Mediterranean sunshine balanced by the cooling, high-altitude alpine breezes and the fierce Mistral wind. Crafted primarily from Grenache and Syrah, Paul Jaboulet Aîné vinifies this cuvée predominantly in stainless steel and concrete vats to preserve its vibrant, primary fruit character. The result is a classic, approachable bistro-style red that sings of ripe red berries, wild lavender, and the savory, herbal scrubland known as garrigue.
