Hailing from the rugged, sun-drenched slopes of Gigondas in the southern Rhône Valley, Paul Jaboulet Aîné's 'Pierre Aiguille' takes its name—meaning 'Stone Needle'—from the dramatic, jagged limestone peaks of the Dentelles de Montmirail that tower over the vineyards. This cuvée captures the wild, untamed spirit of the region, where ancient clay and limestone soils, combined with the cooling influence of the Mistral wind, yield wines of immense power and refinement. Traditionally crafted with a focus on Grenache, the wine undergoes careful fermentation and aging in oak foudres to soften its muscular tannins while preserving the vibrant, spicy character of the terroir, rich with notes of dark berries, garrigue, and black pepper.

Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet in the northern Rhône Valley, Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of France's most iconic wine estates, renowned for its historic vineyards and uncompromising quality. Now owned by the Frey family and guided by winemaker Caroline Frey, the estate has transitioned to certified organic and biodynamic viticulture across its legendary holdings, which span prestigious appellations like Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Cornas. The house is globally celebrated for its flagship Syrah, Hermitage "La Chapelle," alongside expressive white wines and the accessible, classic Parallèle 45 range. Through meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification and aging in French oak, Jaboulet continues to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines that define the character of the Rhône.
