Hailing from the sun-drenched hills of Pézenas in the Languedoc, this cuvée pays homage to a region steeped in history and artistic heritage, once the home of the famed French playwright Molière. The terroir of Pézenas is a remarkable geological mosaic, combining villafranchian gravel, clay-limestone, and dark basaltic soils left behind by ancient, extinct volcanoes. This unique volcanic influence imparts a distinct mineral edge to the wine. Crafted from traditional Southern French varieties, the grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, destemmed, and vinified separately before undergoing partial aging in French and American oak barrels. The resulting wine beautifully captures the essence of the Mediterranean garrigue, blending rich dark fruit characteristics with subtle notes of sweet spice, cocoa, and wild herbs.

Established in 2000 by fourth-generation vigneron Jean-Claude Mas, Domaines Paul Mas has become a preeminent force redefining modern viticulture in the Languedoc. Blending centuries of familial heritage dating back to 1892 with a contemporary New World dynamism, the estate champions a philosophy Jean-Claude terms 'rural luxury'—delivering site-expressive, terroir-focused wines of tremendous value and character.
