Pax's Fanucchi Wood Road Trousseau Gris is a remarkable tribute to California's viticultural heritage. Sourced from the historic Fanucchi Wood Road Vineyard in the Russian River Valley—home to some of the last remaining old-vine Trousseau Gris in the United States—this wine breathes new life into a grape once commonly known as 'Grey Riesling.' The variety boasts unique pinkish-grey skins, which winemaker Pax Mahle coaxes into a stunning, pale-salmon rosé through deliberate skin contact. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral vessels, this wine captures the essence of a nearly lost variety, offering a textured, savory, and highly aromatic profile that bridges the gap between white and orange wines.

Pax Wines blev grundlagt i 2000 af Pax og Pam Mahle og er et anerkendt vinhus beliggende i Sebastopol i Sonoma County, Californien. Vingården er kendt som en pioner inden for 'New California'-bølgen og har særligt fokus på kystnære terroirs med køligt klima i Sonoma og Mendocino County. Hos Pax arbejder man ud fra en minimalistisk, klassisk europæisk tilgang til vinfremstillingen med brug af helklasegæring, vildgær samt modning på neutrale franske egetræsfade og betontanke for at bevare renhed og friskhed. Vinhuset er især berømmet for sine stilskabende, mineralske og krydrede Syrah-vine – herunder aftapningerne fra Sonoma-Hillsides og Alder Springs Vineyard – foruden dynamiske, terroirprægede fortolkninger af Gamay, Chenin Blanc og historiske druesorter.
