Named in homage to Romain Gary's classic novel, Pax's 'The Roots of Heaven' Syrah is a profound testament to the heights that cool-climate California Syrah can achieve when guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention. Sourced from exceptional, wind-swept vineyard sites in Sonoma County, this cuvée captures the wild, untamed beauty of the coast. Pax Mahle employs traditional, old-school techniques including whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts and aging in neutral French oak and concrete vats. This approach coaxes out the grape's most primal and elegant characteristics—think cracked black pepper, smoked meats, black olives, and a deep, stony minerality. It is a wine that bridges the rustic soul of the Northern Rhône with the vibrant energy of California's coastal frontiers, celebrating the preservation of nature in every glass.

Pax Wines blev grundlagt i 2000 af Pax og Pam Mahle og er et anerkendt vinhus beliggende i Sebastopol i Sonoma County, Californien. Vingården er kendt som en pioner inden for 'New California'-bølgen og har særligt fokus på kystnære terroirs med køligt klima i Sonoma og Mendocino County.
