Crafted by visionary winemaker Pax Mahle, 'Venus' is a captivating white blend that showcases the potential of Rhône varieties grown in the extreme, cool-climate conditions of Northern California. Sourced primarily from the rugged, high-altitude slopes of the acclaimed Alder Springs Vineyard in Mendocino County, this wine is a masterclass in tension and texture. Named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty, 'Venus' lives up to its moniker with an alluring aromatic profile and a seductive, layered palate. Pax employs traditional, low-intervention winemaking techniques, including native yeast fermentation and aging in neutral French oak, to allow the unique terroir of these fractured sandstone soils to shine through, balancing rich, stone-fruit weight with a striking, mineral-driven acidity.

Pax Wines blev grundlagt i 2000 af Pax og Pam Mahle og er et anerkendt vinhus beliggende i Sebastopol i Sonoma County, Californien. Vingården er kendt som en pioner inden for 'New California'-bølgen og har særligt fokus på kystnære terroirs med køligt klima i Sonoma og Mendocino County. Hos Pax arbejder man ud fra en minimalistisk, klassisk europæisk tilgang til vinfremstillingen med brug af helklasegæring, vildgær samt modning på neutrale franske egetræsfade og betontanke for at bevare renhed og friskhed. Vinhuset er især berømmet for sine stilskabende, mineralske og krydrede Syrah-vine – herunder aftapningerne fra Sonoma-Hillsides og Alder Springs Vineyard – foruden dynamiske, terroirprægede fortolkninger af Gamay, Chenin Blanc og historiske druesorter.
