Penfolds Reserve Bin A Chardonnay (with '17A' representing the highly acclaimed 2017 vintage release of this series) has established itself as one of Australia's premier white wines, standing proudly alongside the flagship Yattarna. Sourced entirely from the cool-climate Adelaide Hills, this Chardonnay showcases the region's ability to produce wines of immense purity, structure, and longevity. The winemaking philosophy involves hand-harvesting, whole-bunch pressing directly into French oak barriques, and allowing natural wild yeasts to initiate fermentation. The wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation with regular stirring of the lees (battonage) to build a rich, creamy texture that perfectly balances its striking natural acidity. The 'Bin A' series represents a masterclass in modern Australian Chardonnay, combining precision, complexity, and a distinct flinty, mineral-driven character.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse.
