Penfolds Block 42 Kalimna Cabernet Sauvignon is a legendary jewel of Australian winemaking, sourced from a single, historic block within the Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Planted in the late 1880s, these ungrafted vines are widely recognized as some of the oldest continuously producing Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the world. This rare, single-block bottling is only produced in exceptional vintages when the ancient vines yield fruit of unparalleled concentration and complexity. The wine is celebrated for its profound depth, exhibiting intense dark fruit, leafy complexity, and exquisite structural elegance, traditionally matured in premium new American oak hogsheads to impart seamless integration and remarkable longevity.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse.
