The 'Father' Grand Tawny pays homage to this rich heritage. Crafted using a solera-style system of fractional blending, components of classic red varieties are aged in seasoned oak casks for an average of ten years in the warm cellars of South Australia. This slow, oxidative maturation coaxes out luscious notes of dried stone fruits, toasted nuts, praline, and subtle spice, resulting in a velvety, complex tawny that represents a living link to Penfolds' historic past.

Founded in 1844 by Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary at the Magill Estate in South Australia, Penfolds is one of Australia's oldest and most iconic wine producers.
