Penfolds g3 represents an extraordinary and innovative evolution of the estate's famous multi-vintage blending philosophy. Crafted by Chief Winemaker Peter Gago, this ultra-rare bottling seamlessly blends three exceptional vintages of Penfolds flagship wine, Grange—specifically the 2008, 2012, and 2014 vintages. By combining the mature, opulent character of the 2008, the elegant structure of the 2012, and the vibrant, youthful intensity of the 2014, Penfolds created a completely unique expression that is both historic and contemporary. The wine was matured in premium American oak hogsheads, allowing the components to integrate beautifully while retaining the signature power, dark fruit concentration, and savory complexity that defines the Grange lineage. Only 1,200 bottles of this historic blend were ever released, making it a legendary collector's piece.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling. Drevet af en berømt filosofi om at blande på tværs af regioner og druesorter udvælger Penfolds enestående druer fra historiske australske terroirs – herunder Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale og Coonawarra – samt fra udvalgte internationale topområder.
