Penfolds Koonunga Hill Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a classic reflection of South Australia's ability to produce vibrant, refreshing white blends. Named after the Koonunga Hill vineyard in the Barossa Valley, a site acquired by Penfolds in 1959, the Koonunga Hill range was first introduced in 1976 and has since become a benchmark for accessible, high-quality Australian wine. This white blend marries the structure and citrus core of Semillon with the aromatic, tropical lift of Sauvignon Blanc. To preserve its bright fruit profile and crisp acidity, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with no oak contact, resulting in a lively, clean, and highly approachable style that captures the sunshine of South Australia.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling. Drevet af en berømt filosofi om at blande på tværs af regioner og druesorter udvælger Penfolds enestående druer fra historiske australske terroirs – herunder Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale og Coonawarra – samt fra udvalgte internationale topområder. Vinhuset er verdenskendt for kraftfulde, upåklageligt strukturerede og særdeles lagringsværdige vine anført af flagskibet Grange, Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon og den berømmede Bin-serie.
