Named after the historic stone cottage built in 1845 by Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold at the Magill Estate, Rawson's Retreat was introduced to present an approachable, fruit-forward style that honors the family's pioneering roots. Sourced from select vineyards across South Eastern Australia, this Cabernet Sauvignon represents the classic Australian art of multi-regional blending. It is crafted to showcase the bright, juicy characteristics of the variety—bursting with dark plums, cassis, and gentle leafy notes—complemented by subtle oak maturation. Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling.
