Named in honor of Thomas Hyland, the pioneering son-in-law of Penfolds founders Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold, who helped propel the winery into a national powerhouse during the late 19th century. This Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted to showcase the rich, expressive terroir of South Australia's premium wine regions. Traditionally matured in a combination of French and American oak, it delivers the signature Penfolds house style of rich dark fruit, subtle minty eucalyptus notes, and structured, fine-grained tannins that pay homage to the brand's historic legacy.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse. Ejendommen opnåede legendarisk international anerkendelse i 1950'erne under den visionære chefvinmager Max Schubert, som skabte Penfolds Grange og revolutionerede landets vinfremstilling. Drevet af en berømt filosofi om at blande på tværs af regioner og druesorter udvælger Penfolds enestående druer fra historiske australske terroirs – herunder Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale og Coonawarra – samt fra udvalgte internationale topområder.
