The Winemakers Selection Shiraz Cabernet is a tribute to the 'Great Australian Blend'—a historic marriage of varieties that Penfolds and legendary winemaker Max Schubert helped popularize in the mid-20th century. While Old World traditions often kept these two noble grapes apart, South Australian winemakers discovered that the plush, generous dark fruit and spice of Shiraz perfectly fleshed out the structural spine, fine tannins, and minty cassis notes of Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from premium vineyards across South Australia's renowned regions, this wine is crafted in the classic Penfolds house style of multi-regional blending. It undergoes careful maturation in seasoned oak barrels to integrate its rich fruit flavors, resulting in an approachable yet beautifully structured red that carries the hallmark complexity and balance of the estate's blending heritage.

Penfolds blev grundlagt i 1844 af dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold og hans hustru Mary på Magill Estate i South Australia og er i dag et af Australiens ældste og mest ikoniske vinhuse.
