✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the dramatic, volcanic cliffs of Madeira, Pereira D'Oliveira's Sercial Reserva represents the driest, most electrifying style of this historic island's fortified wines. Sercial is a grape of legendary tension; on the Portuguese mainland, it earned the fierce nickname 'Esgana Cão' or dog strangler due to its formidable, mouth-watering acidity. On Madeira's steep, sea-swept terraces, this acidity is transformed into a spine of pure, crystalline energy. To craft this Reserva, the wine undergoes the traditional canteiro method, gently aging in seasoned oak casks in warm lofts under the natural heat of the sun. Over time, the searing acidity softens, marrying with complex oxidative notes of dried citrus, toasted nuts, and a distinct, sea-salt minerality. D'Oliveira's masterly touch ensures that even this younger expression carries the house's signature depth, offering a vibrant window into the timeless winemaking heritage of Funchal.
