The 'Franc de Pied' cuvée from Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot is a rare and captivating expression of Burgundy, crafted from Pinot Noir vines planted directly on their own roots without the aid of American rootstocks. This traditional practice, known as 'franc de pied', offers a liquid window into the pre-phylloxera era of the 19th century, showcasing Pinot Noir in its purest, most historic state. Cultivated with extreme care to guard against the ever-present threat of phylloxera, these vines yield a wine of remarkable silkiness, intense aromatic complexity, and a distinct mineral precision. In the cellar, Charlopin's signature touch of pre-fermentation cold maceration and judicious oak aging coaxes out a luscious, velvety texture that beautifully balances the wine's vibrant, unadulterated fruit character.

Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot har base i landsbyen Brochon i det prestigefyldte Côte de Nuits i Bourgogne og blev grundlagt i 1977 af Philippe Charlopin med udgangspunkt i blot 1,5 hektar familiemarker. Charlopin var dybt inspireret af sin legendariske læremester Henri Jayer og tog hurtigt en række kompromisløse principper til sig: omhyggeligt markarbejde, lave høstudbytter, 100 % afstilkning og præcis fadlagring. Målet var at skabe vine med enestående dybde og renhed. Gennem årtierne har ejendommen udvidet med førsteklasses parceller på tværs af Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune og Chablis, og driften ledes i dag i tæt samarbejde med sønnen Yann. Domænet er særligt berømt for sine fyldige, smidige og terroir-tro Pinot Noir-vine – herunder eftertragtede Grand Crus som Bonnes-Mares og Chambertin – samt sine harmoniske, mineralske Chardonnay-vine.
