Crafted by the modern Burgundy master Philippe Charlopin, this Bourgogne Rouge represents an accessible yet deeply expressive introduction to the estate's signature style. Heavily influenced by the legendary Henri Jayer, Charlopin brings a luscious, fruit-forward intensity to this regional appellation, sourcing Pinot Noir from carefully tended parcels across the Côte de Nuits. The winemaking process incorporates total destemming and a signature pre-fermentation cold maceration to extract vibrant color and pure berry aromas without harsh tannins. Unlike many regional Burgundy reds, this cuvée benefits from aging in a portion of French oak barrels, imparting a subtle spice, velvety texture, and a refined structure that punches far above its weight class.

Established in 1977 by Philippe Charlopin with a modest 1.5-hectare parcel in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Charlopin-Parizot has expanded to encompass 25 hectares spanning the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Chablis. Philippe Charlopin honed his craft under the mentorship of the revered Henri Jayer, deeply absorbing the master's doctrine of low yields, strict fruit selection, and complete destemming. Today co-managed alongside his son Yann, who directs white winemaking, the domaine cultivates limestone- and clay-rich terroirs using sustainable viticultural practices. In the cellar, vinification emphasizes extended cold macerations, indigenous yeast fermentation, and prolonged aging in French oak barrels without fining. The domaine's benchmark portfolio is renowned for textural density, silky tannins, and aromatic purity, anchored by premier crus like Pernand-Vergelesses and village cuvées such as Gevrey-Chambertin Terres Blanches and Vieilles Vignes, alongside celebrated Grand Cru expressions including Charmes-Chambertin, Clos Vougeot, and Chambertin.
