✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the northernmost appellation of the Cote de Nuits, the Marsannay Les Terres Blanches by Philippe Charlopin-Parizot is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir grown on the distinct, light-colored marly limestone soils that give the climat its name. While these white, limestone-heavy soils are highly coveted for white wines, they impart a remarkable mineral precision, bright acidity, and elegant structure to this red Burgundy. Influenced by the legendary Henri Jayer, Charlopin utilizes pre-fermentation cold maceration and careful oak aging to tame the naturally firm structure of Marsannay, resulting in a red wine of surprising fleshiness, vibrant red berry aromatics, and a stony, energetic finish.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1977 by Philippe Charlopin with only 1.5 hectares of family vineyards, Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot is based in the village of Brochon within Burgundy's prestigious Côte de Nuits. Deeply influenced by his mentor, the legendary Henri Jayer, Charlopin embraced meticulous vineyard management, low yields, full destemming, and careful oak aging to craft wines of remarkable depth and purity. Over the decades, the estate has expanded to cover premier parcels across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Chablis, now managed alongside his son Yann. The domaine is celebrated for its opulent, supple, and terroir-expressive Pinot Noirs—including coveted Grand Crus like Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin—alongside finely balanced, mineral-driven Chardonnays.
