Piccini's 'Buon Governo' pays homage to a historic Tuscan winemaking technique known as 'Governo all'Uso Toscano,' which dates back to the 14th century. The name itself is inspired by Ambrogio Lorenzetti's famous frescoes of 'Good Government' in Siena, representing the harmony between human labor and the Tuscan landscape. This traditional method involves refermenting the wine with a small portion of semi-dried Sangiovese grapes. This process coaxes out rich, vibrant cherry aromas, softens the acidity, and imparts a velvety texture. Sourced from the sun-drenched, clay-limestone hills of Tuscany, the blend is dominated by Sangiovese, delivering a beautifully approachable yet historically rich expression of the region's rustic soul.

Piccini blev grundlagt i 1882 af Angiolo Piccini og Maria Teresa Totti i hjertet af Chianti og har gennem fem generationer udviklet sig til et af Italiens mest anerkendte og dynamiske familieejede vinhuse. Under ledelse af Mario Piccini forener familien i dag en dyb toskansk arv med moderne vinmagerkunst på tværs af en imponerende portefølje af egne vingårde. Vinhuset er berømt for sine udtryksfulde vine på Sangiovese – lige fra klassisk Chianti Classico og raffineret Brunello di Montalcino fra Villa al Cortile til innovative cuvéer som den pan-italienske Memoro og Supertoscaneren Sasso al Poggio.
