Piccini's 'Mario Primo' is a nostalgic tribute to Mario Piccini, the family patriarch who shaped the winery's legacy in the 20th century. This wine is intentionally crafted to revive the historic, light-hearted style of Tuscan reds from the 1930s. Breaking away from heavy, oak-laden modern profiles, it utilizes a traditional blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Ciliegiolo, occasionally accented with a touch of local white grapes like Trebbiano in the old Chianti fashion. Fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel tanks, it captures the essence of fresh, bright red cherries and field herbs, celebrating a time when Tuscan wine was a simple, daily joy of the rustic table.
