Hailing from the sun-drenched hillsides of Gascony in South-West France, Plaimont's 'Favori' Red is a charming testament to the region's historic winemaking traditions. This cuvée artfully blends the robust, deeply colored Tannat—the signature grape of the Pyrenean foothills—with the soft, fleshy fruitiness of Merlot. The terroir of clay-limestone soils imparts a pleasant freshness and mineral backbone to the wine. Historically, this region is celebrated as the home of the legendary Musketeer d'Artagnan, and 'Favori' captures that spirited, rustic elegance. Crafted for immediate pleasure, the wine undergoes traditional fermentation with gentle extraction to preserve its bright red berry and dark plum aromatics, resulting in a supple, approachable red that beautifully represents Gascon hospitality.

Plaimont blev grundlagt i 1979 under den visionære André Duboscs ledelse, da passionerede vinbønder fra Plaisance, Aignan og Saint-Mont i hjertet af Gascogne i det sydvestlige Frankrig forenede deres kræfter. I dag er kooperativet et fyrtårn for den regionale kulturarv med et særligt fokus på at genoplive og bevare sjældne, oprindelige druesorter som Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng og Pinenc. Vinmarkerne breder sig over Pyrenæernes forbjerge og dækker historiske parceller i Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh og Côtes de Gascogne. Plaimont er anerkendt for sit alsidige og autentiske sortiment, som spænder fra sprøde, aromatiske hvidvine og livlige rosévine – herunder Fleur d'Artagnan og Saint Mont-serierne – til strukturerede, lagringsværdige rødvine og raffinerede mousserende cuvéer.
