Hailing from the sun-drenched hillsides of Gascony in South-West France, Plaimont's Petit Ballon Blanc is a vibrant tribute to the region's joyful, epicurean spirit. This wine captures the essence of the Côtes de Gascogne, where maritime breezes from the Atlantic Ocean meet the warm, protective influence of the Pyrenees Mountains. Crafted primarily from the traditional local varieties Colombard and Ugni Blanc, this cuvée reflects the cooperative's dedication to preserving indigenous grapes. Historically, these varieties were prized for Armagnac production, but modern cold-fermentation techniques pioneered in the late 20th century unlocked their potential to create exceptionally aromatic, crisp, and refreshing dry white wines. The name 'Petit Ballon' evokes a friendly, casual glass of wine shared among friends in a traditional French bistro, celebrating the simple pleasures of Southwestern French hospitality.

Plaimont blev grundlagt i 1979 under den visionære André Duboscs ledelse, da passionerede vinbønder fra Plaisance, Aignan og Saint-Mont i hjertet af Gascogne i det sydvestlige Frankrig forenede deres kræfter. I dag er kooperativet et fyrtårn for den regionale kulturarv med et særligt fokus på at genoplive og bevare sjældne, oprindelige druesorter som Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng og Pinenc. Vinmarkerne breder sig over Pyrenæernes forbjerge og dækker historiske parceller i Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh og Côtes de Gascogne.
