Pol Roger's relationship with Sir Winston Churchill began at a luncheon in Paris in 1944, sparking a lifelong friendship between the British Prime Minister and Odette Pol-Roger. Churchill famously declared Pol Roger's address 'the most drinkable address in the world.' In honor of his memory, the house created its prestige cuvée, first released with the 1975 vintage. Crafted only in exceptional years, the blend is a closely guarded family secret, though it is known to be dominated by Pinot Noir for structure, breadth, and robust character, balanced by Chardonnay for elegance and acidity. The grapes are sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards that were already under vine during Churchill's lifetime. Aged for a minimum of ten years on its lees in the deepest, coolest chalk cellars of Épernay, this Champagne is celebrated for its rich, full-bodied complexity, fine effervescence, and remarkable longevity.
