Domaine Prieuré Roch's Gamay is a captivating anomaly in the Côte d'Or, where Pinot Noir reigns supreme. Historically, Gamay was famously banished from the region in 1395 by Duke Philip the Bold, who declared it a 'bad and disloyal plant.' However, Prieuré Roch embraces this historic grape, cultivating it with the same obsessive care and natural philosophy applied to their legendary Grand Crus. Sourced from organically farmed plots, the grapes undergo 100% whole-cluster fermentation using native yeasts, with no added sulfur during vinification. The wine is aged in seasoned oak barrels, resulting in a remarkably pure, vibrant, and wild expression of Gamay. It combines bright, brambly forest fruits with the signature 'Roch' exotic spice, stemmy complexity, and a deep, mineral-driven earthiness that redefines what this grape can achieve in Burgundian soils.

Domaine Prieuré Roch blev grundlagt i 1988 af den visionære, afdøde Henry-Frédéric Roch, som også var meddirektør for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Det højt respekterede domæne har hjemme i Prémeaux-Prisey i Bourgognes Côte de Nuits.
