Historically, Gamay was famously banished from the region in 1395 by Duke Philip the Bold, who declared it a 'bad and disloyal plant.' However, Prieuré Roch embraces this historic grape, cultivating it with the same obsessive care and natural philosophy applied to their legendary Grand Crus. Sourced from organically farmed plots, the grapes undergo 100% whole-cluster fermentation using native yeasts, with no added sulfur during vinification. The wine is aged in seasoned oak barrels, resulting in a remarkably pure, vibrant, and wild expression of Gamay.
