✨ wine.spec_sheet

The story of Produttori del Barbaresco is one of the greatest cooperative success stories in the wine world. Founded in 1958 by the local priest, Don Fiorino Marengo, who united nineteen struggling growers to rescue the region's viticulture, the cooperative has become the global benchmark for Nebbiolo. The Anniversario 50 Riserva celebrates a half-century of this historic alliance. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the prestigious, mineral-rich clay-limestone soils of Barbaresco, this wine undergoes traditional long maceration on the skins and extensive aging in large Slavonian oak casks (botti). The result is an incredibly elegant and structured red, defined by classic aromas of dried rose petals, sour cherries, tar, and refined earthy spices.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1958 by the local parish priest Don Fiorino Marengo, Produttori del Barbaresco is a legendary cooperative winery located in the village of Barbaresco within Italy's Piedmont region. Uniting nineteen small growers to preserve the heritage of the Nebbiolo grape, the estate revived a tradition of quality first established by Domizio Cavazza in 1894. The winery is globally renowned for its uncompromising commitment to the Nebbiolo variety, producing a classic Barbaresco DOCG alongside nine distinct single-vineyard Riservas, such as Moccagatta, which are released only in exceptional vintages. Vinified using traditional methods, including long maceration and aging in large Slavonian oak casks, these wines are celebrated worldwide for their structure, elegance, and profound expression of terroir.
