β¨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the legendary cooperative Produttori del Barbaresco, founded in 1958 by the local priest Don Fiorino Marengo to protect small growers, this Langhe Nebbiolo is a masterclass in regional heritage. While many Langhe Nebbiolos source grapes from the wider region, this bottling is unique: it is composed of 100% Nebbiolo grown entirely within the prestigious Barbaresco DOCG boundary, primarily from younger vines. Fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly in large Slavonian oak casks, it offers a vibrant, pure expression of the Nebbiolo grape, capturing the essence of the Langhe's clay-limestone soils without the heavy oak influence. It pays homage to Domizio Cavazza, the founding father of Barbaresco, who first recognized the cooperative potential of these hills.
πΎ About the Producer
Founded in 1958 by parish priest Don Fiorino Marengo and nineteen local growers, Produttori del Barbaresco was established to revive the historic cooperative model first initiated by Domizio Cavazza in 1894 in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, Italy. Widely celebrated as one of the world's preeminent wine cooperatives, the estate unites over fifty member families dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of the Nebbiolo grape across exceptional vineyard sites. Upholding steadfast traditional winemaking principles, including extended macerations and aging in large oak casks, the winery produces benchmark expressions that embody pure varietal typicity and terroir transparency. In stellar vintages, Produttori crafts nine renowned single-vineyard Cru Riservas alongside historic tribute bottlings, exemplifying the profound elegance, structure, and longevity of Barbaresco.
